5 Different CV styles #3: The Commercials CV
We see a lot of CV’s at thecallsheet.co.uk and while it’s good to have variety, some are definitely better than others.
Here are 5 types of CV’s we commonly see and some key differences depending on what you do, your level of experience and the type of productions you work on. We’re not saying any one of these 5 are better than the other, each has a unique effect.
The Commercials CV (SAMPLE)
- This type of CV is often written in landscape, not portrait and will never be longer than 3 pages.
- Commercials happen so frequently that dates are eschewed and credits are densely packed
- Brands and script names (sometimes even ad agencies) are listed
- The Production companies listed on a commercials CV are the first thing the producer, director and PM will look at – “who else is he/she working for?”.
- Diary service is listed as the primary point of contact
- Specialist skills and equipment are listed
