Elstree Expands its TV clients

ELSTREE STUDIOS SUCCESSFULLY EXPANDS ITS TV OFFERING

1109 The Voice: filmed at Elstree Studios

It is a year now since BBC Studios and Post Production (BBC S&PP) moved part of their television centre operation to Elstree Studios.  The BBC S&PP installed three first class television galleries at Elstree Studios to service studios 8 and 9 and the George Lucas stages.  The studios range from 8,000 – 16,000sq ft. and they have proved a hit with both BBC S&PP clients and Elstree Studios clients.  Elstree Studios also totally refurbished the stages with Elgood TV floors, refurbished TV grids, dressing rooms, make up and office areas.

Over this last year, the studios have provided a home to some of televisions top shows including Who wants to be a Millionaire?,  Dancing On Ice, The Voice, Strictly Come Dancing, Pointless, Your Face Sounds Familiar, Fifteen to One and many others.

Elstree Studios is also on course with its expansion plans to provide more production studios for both film and television.  The disused four acre back lot, after 30 years, has now been cleared and ready for construction.  The money to clear the site came from the Herts Local Enterprise Partnership and Hertsmere Borough Council.  Roger Morris, Managing Director, said “The new studio facility that we intend to build in this new area will be to satisfy client demand and will increase the capacity of the studios by almost 30%.  The studios are probably going through their most successful period ever. “

Also based at the Studios is Big Brother and they enjoyed this year their best ever Celebrity Big Brother run.  Their new series begins in June this summer.
