An Evening with Jonathan Lewsley - BBC Development Editor, BBC Independent Drama


 
Jonathan Lewsley is the Development Editor for the BBC’s Independent Drama Commissioning team.  As a script editor and story producer, his credits include 'The Bill', 'Shameless', 'The Musketeers', 'Jonathan Strange' and 'Mr Norrell'. He holds a first-class degree from Oxford University, qualifications from UCLA and the UK’s National Film & Television School, trained as a criminal barrister, and had a prior career as an international rock drummer.
 

Event Details

To attend this event you must meet the following criteria:

Small to medium sized creative businesses with less than 250 employees, based in London that work in the TV and Film sector

Businesses who are either a registered company or that have a unique tax reference number (UTR)

This session will be moderated by Matt Gallagher of theccallsheet.co.uk and includes the following:

  • Scriptwriting, narrative structures and story
  • Identifying and fixing problems with scripts
  • Character development in story
  • The commissioning process
  • Pitching to broadcasters  
  • Attendees will be able to participate in a Q&A session with the speaker
 
PLEASE NOTE: Doors open at 5pm for the masterclass to start at 7pm with a chance for networking. 
 

You will need to provide the following Information:

  • Completed SME registration form
  • Sole Traders only: An original HMRC document which shows your UTR number (usually a 10 digit number) name and address. Photos are not accepted. If your HMRC document shows a different address you will also need to supply one of the following: Invoices, delivery notes, business bank account statements or utility bill addressed to the business. These will need to be no older than six months and show your business name and new address.
