Prometheus Trailer
A three minute trailer was screened on Sunday night for Ridley Scott's Prometheus. The trailer aired during the ad break for Channel4 drama 'Homeland' and set social networks into overdrive.
Trailers for major films are getting longer and longer - we profiled an 8 minute trailer for The Girl with Dragon Tattoo back in December. Does revealing so much in a trailer show confidence in the final product or doubt? Does it spoil the film if you can guess the storyline from the trailer? For newcomers, keeping storylines under wraps is taken very seriously by the major studios. Script security during production is very strict. It's common that issued scripts are watermarked with the individuals name, some are locked in safes overnight and some are seldom taken off-site from the studio.
We are looking forward to sharing an interview with a key member of the Prometheus crew later this month, but we wont reveal any spoilers for that. Instead, we've posted the clip for the film and below that, the trailer for the original Alien from 1979 so you can compare.
