SO YOU WANT TO BE A PRODUCTION CO-ORDINATOR?

Saturday 27th September 2014   10-5pm

The role of a Production Co-Ordinator is mainly to help keep their PMs sane!
Co-ordinators are in charge of setting up of shoots and all that entails i.e. organising crew and kit, travel,
accommodation, location finding and permission to film; though the Production Manager will already have done
the deals. Other tasks include keeping the contact list and production schedules up to date.
They are responsible for collecting all release forms and creating the initial risk assessment for sign off by the PM,
plus taking care of petty cash, monitoring floats and checking expenses. They may be required to act as a data
wrangler for tapeless footage or work with a DIT.

Their other responsibilities include setting up systems and maybe entering them into the cost book. They ensure
that the credit roller, captions and graphics are correct; plus deliverables to include tapeless or tape delivery, the
Programme As Completed forms and Post Production scripts. Take a look at a provisional schedule for the day.
As well as production managing and teaching, Linda Stradling is the author of “Production Management for TV and
Film – The professional guide”, the definitive book on production management and a media trainer at the National
Film and Television School as well as for the PMA.

If you know of anyone who is interested in this course please ask them to contact the PMA pma@pma.org.uk for
